Activities & Sights

  • Cabazon Dinosaurs - Stop by on your way in or out of Palm Springs to live your own Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
  • Palm Springs Aerial Tramway - Notable for the panic attack Gemma had on the way up once. The ride up is no joke but the views at the top are gorgeous. There are a couple of restaurants up there and a bunch of hiking trails. The temperature drops about 30-40 degrees once you're up there so plan ahead.
  • Architecture - Check out some classic Palm Springs architecture including the House of Tomorrow aka the Honeymoon Hideaway where Elvis and Priscilla Presley honeymooned in 1967 (pictured). It's occasionally open for tours too.
    • Palm Springs Art Museum - Permanent collection features 19th, 20th, and 21st century works focusing on contemporary California art, classic western and Native American art. Our wedding venue is located directly above it up on the hill!
    • Modernism Week (February 15-25) - Annual 11-day festival with more than 350 events including the Palm Springs Modernism Show, tours of iconic homes in more than 30 neighborhoods, and the popular Signature Home Tour on both weekends. Also offered are architectural walking, biking and double-decker bus tours, tours of the historic Annenberg Estate at Sunnylands, a classic car show, garden tours, a 2-day vintage trailer show, nightly parties, and a special series of compelling and informative talks at the Annenberg Theater and the CAMP theater. Tickets go on sale 11/1 @ noon.

    • Desert Hills Premium Outlets - 30 mins from Downtown Palm Springs and worth the drive.
    • Mojave Flea Trading Post - A 10,000 sq. ft marketplace of makers & merchants from Joshua Tree, the Coachella Valley + beyond (pictured above).
    • The Frippery - Gemma's all-time favorite vintage clothing store.

    • Bar Cecil - Dare I say it's the cutest place in town? Reservations open up a month in advance and it's a tough table to get, BUT the bar area is for walk-ins only so if you arrive right at opening, you'll be fine.
    • The Heyday - Fantastic smashburgers (they have vegan and veggie options too).

    • Bootlegger Tiki - tiny tiki bar located in the same space that once housed the legendary 1950s hot spot Don the Beachomber is decked out with blowfish light fixtures.
    • Seymour's - a tiny bar within the Mr. Lyons steakhouse.
    • High Bar - rooftop pool bar on top of the Rowan Hotel with mountain views (including O'Donnell House!).
    • The Reef - expect kitschy island decor, an expansive tropical cocktail menu, a super delish classic mai tai, and a few flaming drinks at this always-festive indoor-outdoor bar within the equally retro-Polynesian Caliente Tropics Resort.
    • The Amigo Room - inside the Ace Hotel and has a nice offering of craft beers and the cocktail menu is full of plays on classics, as well as one-of-a-kind drinks, like the tequila-mezcal-and-prickly pear Picante Amante garnished with avocado leaf salt.
    • PS Air Bar - a goofy aviation-themed bar featuring real plane seats, wall panels, and windows from an airplane boneyard.
